About the Role

My client is pioneering the transition to renewables with a growing portfolio of solar and wind projects. With over 55 developments and a combined 17 GW of capacity, they’re making significant strides toward a sustainable, carbon-free future. 

My client seeks a visionary and results-driven leader to join their dynamic team as a VP of Development. This pivotal role requires expertise in project management, economic strategy, contract negotiation, and
transaction execution, focusing on a diverse portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects targeting wholesale power markets across the United States. 

The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 10 years of experience in the energy sector, coupled with exceptional financial acumen, strategic foresight, and the ability to translate complex challenges into actionable solutions. We’re seeking a collaborative leader with a passion for renewable energy and the drive to propel projects from concept to operational success. 

 
Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and execute a forward-thinking vision for the Development team, aligning with Vesper Energy’s growth objectives. 
  • Identify, evaluate, and advance utility-scale renewable energy and storage projects that deliver long-term value. 
  • Drive initiatives to expand the project pipeline and position Vesper Energy as a leader in sustainable energy markets.
  • Partner with finance teams to perform rigorous feasibility analyses, manage project budgets, and secure financing
  • Build and mentor a high-performing Development team, instilling a culture of innovation, collaboration, and resilience.
